Canon’s 5D Mark IV is a top performer – but you’ll be paying a premium for it. Top-notch images are promised from this camera, which will be all too familiar to existing users of the 5D Mark III or 5D Mark II .

TechRadar UK

If you can justify the outlay, then the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV has to be one of the most well-rounded and complete DSLRs we've seen. Suited to a range of subjects, from landscapes to sports and wildlife, it'll perform superbly in any situation.

ePHOTOzine

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV introduces a new 30.4-megapixel full-frame sensor, with dual-pixels, which can be used for quicker AF, as well as Canon's new "Dual Pixel Raw Optimizer" for fine adjustment of raw files after you've taken the shot.

Pocket Lint

Overall, as full-frame all-rounders go the 5D Mark IV is hard to beat. It’s a deft balance between resolution, autofocus ability and control, seeing it stand head and shoulders above its predecessor and, right now, the competition too.

Photography BLOG

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV builds on the proven design of its popular 4-year-old predecessor, the 5D Mark III, upgrading just about every aspect of its performance, which all adds up to a much better, yet still familiar, all-round camera for stills and video shooters alike.

Canon does it again with a 5D camera to be proud of. The Mark IV builds on the heritage of previous models and brings new improvements that make it simply superb.

Canon

I bought my 5D Mark IV for product, studio and general photography. I have been very impressed with the camera overall, coming from another full frame camera the Canon is very intuitive and responsive. The main reasons to change is to do with the choice of lenses, Canon colour and tethered shooting.

Wex Photo Video

I bought the 5D to replace a 6D and I haven't been disappointed. It's quite a big jump up in price compared with the 6D, which reflects the general robustness of the camera as much as the additional features, resolution and the boost in dynamic range.

WEX

Wow what a camera, to make it perfect I would look to have 10fps burst then it would have the best of everything. the controls are intuitive, presets are easily configurable and it is a joy to work with. I purchased mine with a Canon EF 16-35mm f4 L IS USM Lens and wow a whole new world.

Rate My Camera

Amazing camera for any professional photographer. It is not great for anyone wanting to use it for video, it lacks a usable 4K format. But the dual auto focus is outstanding.

Castle Cameras

Brilliant camera, not only capture's great images, but also feels like an extension to your hand. Such a smooth operation, along with precision images, a great tool to use. I enjoy taking photos of race car's in action, along with everyday photos, you couldn't ask for anything better.

Wilkinson Cameras

Have upgraded from a 6D and am really impressed with the improvement in the autofocus system and have customised the focussing and switch from spot to servo onto the back buttons. The touch screen is brilliant. I've found it all quick and easy to handle and the images excellent.

Photospecialist

My choice of a full frame camera was between the 5DS and the new 5D Mk IV. Given that low light performance and focusing speed are more important to me than ultimate pixel count, I opeted for the latter. The image quality from the 5D IV is fantastic, even down to the lowest light levels.

Canon

I bought a new camera, which was a marvel in itself; the difference between old and new are worlds apart and the images are amazing. I really love the touchscreen and option of viewing the LCD or through the viewfinder, as I am not the contortionist I used to be ;-) Great product quality and feel...
